Cause and Effect of WWII
Causes and effects of World War II
World War II began in September, 1939 due to Germany invading Poland. Then Britain and France declared war on Germany. The War ended on August 15, 1945 when Japan surrendered following the two atomic bombs dropped over Japan in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The cause of World War II can be directly traced to the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty left much anger between the countries involved in World War I. The treaty blamed Germany for the cause of the war. Germany had to pay for the damage that occurred during the war. Then the German military was disarmed, Germany was prohibited from building up their armies. Germany also lost allot of land due to the treaty. In areas that spoke mainly German. The effects of the war was that in the end of the war Berlin was divided into four different zones and the Germany was split into two. Other effects include the atomic crisis that followed the end of the war due to the bombs dropped on Japan. It also left the Soviet Union and the United States of America as the only two “super powers” in the world. Which then leads to the Cold war.
