Wernher von Braun
Wernher von Braun was the head of the team that created the V-1 or “buzz bomb” (today known as a “cruise missile”) and the V-2 was a “ballistic missile” that flew into space before falling down on its target. Both of these Weapons were used in the bombing campaigns on London and killed thousands of civilians. Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was born of Jewish parents in Ulm, Germany, in 1879. He was educated at Munich, Aarau and Zurich, but he emigrated to the United States in 1934. There he started arguing that democratic nations needed to rearm in order to defend itself against the aggressive foreign policy of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Einstein encouraged Roosevelt to establish the Manhattan Project, with warning him that German scientists were in a position to develop an atomic bomb. James Frank
James Frank was a World War 2 veteran and a German Professor for experimental physics. A strong opponent of Adolf Hitler Frank left Nazi Germany in 1933 and emigrated to the United States. Here he became a Professor on the University of Chicago and later a part of the Manhattan Project.
