Dorothea Binz
Binz started her career as a concentration camp guard in 1939, but it didn’t take her long to become deputy chief wards at Ravensbruck and later Buchenwald. Binz was well known for her brutality. For Example one time she chopped a prisoner to death with an axe during a forced labor assignment. While she fled at the close of the war she was caught, tried and on May 2, 1947 executed for her crimes. Maria Mandel
Mandel was the commandant of the notorious Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. In this position between 1942 and 1945 she is believed to have been directly responsible for the deaths of 500,000 prisoners. Following her trial, Mandel was executed for her crimes on January 24, 1948. Elisabeth Volkenrath
She was trained by Dorothea Binz to serve at Ravensbruck and Auschwitz-Birkenau. But Volkenrathwent on to be appointed senior supervisor at Bergen-Belsen. Well known to have participated in the execution of prisoners, at her trial she was convicted and, like her teacher, executed for her crimes. Heinrich Himmler
Heinrich Himmler, was the architect of the holocaust and considered to be the biggest mass murderer ever. He tried to breed a master race of Nordic appearance, the Aryan race. Himmler was captured after the war and committed suicide by swallowing a cyanide capsule he had bit upon. Friedrich Jeckeln
Jeckeln was personally responsible for ordering the deaths of over 100,000 Jews, Slavs, Roma, and other “undesirables” of the Third Reich. Jeckeln developed his own methods to kill large numbers of people, which became known as the “Jeckeln System”. After the war he was tried and hanged by the Russians in Riga on February 3, 1946. Paul Blobel
Blobel was primarily responsible for the Babi Yar massacre at Kiev. Up to 59,018 executions are attributable to Blobel. He was later sentenced to death by the U.S. Nuremberg Military Tribunal in the Einsatzgruppen Trial. He was hanged at Landsberg Prison on June 8, 1951.
